  • Dan Czermak
    President, ACHS
    Dan Czermak. Esq.

    As president of AcuteCare Health System, Daniel Czermak, Esq., has been responsible for all aspects of this company since its inception in 2002 to establish and manage long term acute care hospitals. Since that time, he has overseen its growth into a $20 million, 200-employee business, whose flagship operation is Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey. Czermak has been intimately involved in starting several successful businesses in the health care and high-technology sectors. His prior business experience includes a tenure as chief executive officer of Rein & Co., a Lakewood, N.J.-based management consulting firm serving the high-tech industry. In this role, Czermak was responsible for bringing together key executive leadership from both Fortune 100 companies and venture-backed start-ups. He also served as a venture partner in Rein Capital, a $50 million venture capital practice in Lakewood focused on early-stage investment in the technology sector. Before joining Rein Capital, Czermak was an associate at Yankowitz, Goldsmith & Sayers, focusing on corporate and real estate law. He holds a law degree from Rutgers University, Newark, N.J., and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Touro College, New York, N.Y

  • Howard Lebowitz, M.D.

    Howard Lebowitz, M.D.

    The ACHS clinical team is led by our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Howard Lebowitz. He is a resident of Lakewood who received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, Boston, where he graduated cum laude from the Harvard-Massachusetts Institute of Technology Division of Health Sciences and Technology and earned the DuPont Young Investigator of the Year Award from the American College of Chest Physicians. After completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dr. Lebowitz served as an attending physician at that Harvard teaching affiliate for five years and earned his board certification in internal medicine before joining the medical staff at Monmouth Medical Center in 2001.

  • MaryPat Napolitano
    VP, Human Resources
    MaryPat Napolitano

    In her role as vice president of human resources, MaryPat Napolitano provides leadership and consultation, and has planning and operational oversight in all areas of human resources. She is responsible for the management of employee relations, salary compensation, hiring and retention strategies, and the physician credentialing process for Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey. Napolitano has served in progressive HR positions since AcuteCare Health System’s inception before being elevated to her current position. Prior to joining the company, she was employed by the Asbury Park Board of Education for 15 years as coordinator for the employee and training program, and spent the previous 11 years progressing in management positions for the Alexander’s department store chain. Napolitano has held elected office on the Township of Ocean Council and Board of Education, and was chosen in 2007 as grand marshal of its Memorial Day Parade. An active member of the community, she held the position of director of the Asbury Park Fourth of July Parade Committee and served on the Holy Spirit Church Anniversary Committee, Asbury Park, N.J. She holds a degree from Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York, and holds a certification in human resource management from the American Management Association.

  • Hilary Michaels, RN, MSN
    Corporate Director of Quality and Standards
    Hilary Michaels, RN, MSN

    Currently the Corporate Director of Quality and Standards, Hilary oversees all aspects of Quality, regularity standards and clinical policy operations for ACHS. She has extensive experience in licensure, program planning/ development and management. Prior to this role she served as the Executive Director for Specialty Hospital at Kimball location where she was key in the development, implementation and daily management of ACHS’s second long term acute care hospital. In her 22 years career in healthcare, Hilary has held various director and leadership positions in acute care as well as serving as an administrative director of nursing and the staffing office. She has also served as the program planner and director of outpatient ambulatory programs specializing in Diabetes, Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Medicine. She received a Baccalaureate Degree from Radford University in 1988 and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from University of Virginia.
